Brussels, Belgium - The European Power Transmission Distributors Association (EPTDA, which is now calling itself the EMEA Power Transmission Distributors Association) has set the venue for its 2014 convention in Istanbul, Turkey. The event will run September 24-26.

“In 2013, EPTDA set new targets of geographical growth, taking a more prominent role in the whole EMEA [Europe, Middle East & Africa] region. Considering the current economic conditions and industry developments in Europe, our members – both distributors and manufacturers – are looking for new opportunities, new channels. Turkey is a thriving business place offering a lot of potential, and a distinctive gateway to emerging marketplaces,” said Hans Hanegreefs, EPTDA executive vice-president.

EPTDA will host its next annual convention with the support of its 10 Turkish member companies. The convention is a business-to-business event, attracting 350-400 decision-makers. Industrial distributors, manufacturers, associate partners and end-users will convene for the intensive networking and educational event.

A high array of experts, including opening keynote speaker Lawrence Heyton, closing keynote speaker Charles Hazelwood and economist Alan Beaulieu, will line up to share experience with business and success. Parallel hands-on seminars will also shed light on topical issues of industrial distribution and nurture innovative ideas to face today and tomorrow’s challenges.

Besides executive-level networking functions, the convention agenda features yielding distributor-manufacturer meetings, called the Manufacturer-Distributor IDea EXchange (MD-IDEX), where both parties can discuss openly the latest products, innovations, technology development and business opportunities.
