City of Kawartha Lakes – Students in Fleming’s Electrical Power Generation Technician program will gain valuable hands-on experience working with a brand new piece of equipment thanks to a donation from Wajax, a national industrial distributor.

The Centre for Heavy Equipment Technology at the Frost Campus of Fleming College received a new 30-kW propane generator this week. Wajax representatives Jerry Curtis (Toronto Branch), Bill Fields (Toronto Truck Branch) and Rick Schmit (Calgary Power Systems Branch) were at the Centre on Oct. 28, 2014, to make the donation. They also presented an information session on the company and its many upcoming job opportunities to students in the Heavy Equipment Techniques program.

“The Heavy Equipment Techniques and Electrical Power Generation programs greatly appreciate the support of Wajax to enhance the student experience here, and after graduation,” said Scott Heard, faculty member with the Centre for Heavy Equipment

Technology.
