Washington, DC - The American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA) has announced the 2013 recipients of the Tedric A. Harris Bearing Industry Internship to two young engineers. Each recipient will receive $1,000 scholarship grant from ABMA and spend the summer interning at an ABMA member company.
The recipients are Brian Harrell and Michael Spinelli.
Harrell is currently in his third year at Penn State University, where he is majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. The education committee felt that his unique background with aerospace engineering showed promise and dedication within the engineering field. He will be working at SKF USA Inc. facility in Hanover, PA.
Spinelli is currently in his second year at Carnegie Mellon University, where is he majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Economics. The education committee felt that his application stood out among the fellow applicants because of his outstanding achievements in the engineering realm as well as his outside achievements at the university. His internship will take place at Schaeffler Group USA’s Danbury, CT facility.
Both candidates report they are very excited about this opportunity and look forward to gaining key insights about the bearing industry.
