In honoring Level 10 Construction with the award, ENR California cited the firms “dramatic growth” and “high profile projects,” adding that, “having made a big splash on California’s construction market, Level 10 Construction continues to ride a rising tide of growth.”

“Level 10 Construction is very appreciative that ENR California has honored our company and our team with this designation,” said President Dennis Giles. “It is gratifying that our mission to build at the highest level has been recognized by those who analyze and cover the construction industry on a daily basis.”

Level 10 Construction, founded in September 2011, has grown from five employees to nearly 600 in less than four years. The company also is on track to reach $750 million in 2015.

Some of Level 10 Construction’s high-profile projects include the 433,555-sq.-ft., Frank Gehry- designed Facebook MPK 20 campus in Menlo Park; the $578-million Moffett Place mixed-used campus in Sunnyvale; and the $540-million, 802-ft.-tall 181 Fremont residential and office tower in San Francisco. Level 10’s San Diego office is currently working on projects for Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc.; University of California, San Diego (UCSD); University of San Diego (USD); and multiple biopharmaceutical clients. The San Diego office also was recently awarded a 22-story, mixed-use high-rise in downtown San Diego.

ENR California said that Level 10 Construction’s responsiveness and flexibility has been key to its success. “Being based in the heart of innovation-oriented Silicon Valley, Level 10 honed its problem–solving abilities early on by working on projects for like-minded, fast-track tech firms,” the publication said.

President Dennis Giles agrees that speed to market is important: “Companies are in growth mode here, and they need these facilities in a short period of time,” he told ENR. “So it’s essential to create a good design and schedule collaboration with the architect and owner.”

Level 10 Construction was founded by a seasoned team of executives who had previously worked together as colleagues and had a collective vision of building a firm that would be an exceptional general contractor in California.

As ENR California said, “Level 10’s accelerated ascent is hardly beginner’s luck. Its leadership team is made up of alumni from another long-time West Coast contractor.”

Giles added that the leadership team’s industry reputations aided in quickly forging relationships among subcontractors and prospective clients.

“We are serious about our mission,” said Giles. “We want to do everything that exceeds—not only meets but exceeds—an owner’s expectation. Together, as a team, we can build at the highest level.”
