CMTS 2011 sees 10% increase in attendance and sold out conference (Oct. 2011)

Toronto - From standing room only at the keynote Kevin O'Leary addressed a show floor that was almost double in size compared to 2009, to an overall 10% increase in attendance and a sold-out technical conference, the success of October's Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show 2011 (CMTS 2011) reflects the growing optimism of the Canadian manufacturing industry in general, say show organizers.

Halifax, NS -- The IDI Independent Distributors Inc. Annual Meeting and Supplier Summit, which took place at the Delta Halifax in Nova Scotia, June 14-17, 2011, signified a big accomplishment for both IDI members and vendors towards their annual charitable donations. Including the cheques issued to charities at the Halifax events, IDI donations have amounted, over the past six years, to more than $100,000.
IDI’s next event will be its annual General Meeting and IDIMart trade show, taking place in Montreal, Jan. 24-27, 2012.

Las Vegas, NV -- IFPE 2011, a huge international exposition and technical conference dedicated to the integration of fluid power with other technologies for power transmission and motion control - including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical technologies -- was a resounding success, featuring more than 430 exhibitors. Mississauga, ON - Partners in Prevention 2011, a health and safety conference and trade show, took place at the International Centre in Mississauga, ON, May 17-18. Hosted by Health & Safety Ontario, a group of four health and safety associations, the conference brought together more than 4,000 health and safety professionals, industry experts and solution providers.

The annual event featured over 400 exhibitors and more than 60 sessions, workshops and courses. Among the featured speakers WestJet founder Don Bell and mental health advocate Margaret Trudeau.

Toronto, ON -- IDI Independent Distributors Inc. held its 30th annual shareholders meeting in January at the Delta Chelsea hotel in downtown Toronto. Business meetings and social events accompanied the annual IDI Mart trade show, where a total of 84 tabletop exhibits allowed members of the popular buying group to view the wide variety of industrial products on display.

Montreal, QC - The CIM Conference & Exhibition 2011, which took place May 22-25 at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, was organized by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.

This year's technical sessions focused on economic issues, globalization, environmental stewardship and technology areas, drawing in over 6,000 participants. Featured sessions covered projects, best practices, people and business management, environmental and social responsibility, innovation and technology, earth science and the Iron Ore Symposium. New this year, conference-goers benefited from simultaneous translation into French throughout the program.
