The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) has recently released the third edition of the Power Transmission Handbook. The educational tool, reference source and resource manual has been updated to improve clarity and increase comprehension.

Written for the entry-level individual in an easy-to-read format, the Power Transmission Handbook is a definitive textbook for power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) fundamentals. The handbook is designed for use in group-learning situations, as a self-study program or a reference guide. Complete with charts, diagrams, drawings and photos, it covers the basics of PT/MC products and applications, including maintenance and diagnostic tips, application and selection criteria and standards.

An accompanying workbook includes true/false, multiple choice and short answer questions on each chapter. The workbook may be used as a source of homework or quizzes in a classroom situation or as a self-study tool; an Answer Guide is also available.

Ideal for both new and experienced distributor salespeople, the 200-page book helps them to educate new and current employees on PT/MC products, technologies and concepts; provide experience in solving problems and presenting solutions; and apply fundamental engineering concepts. It also serves as a reference guide and trains customers on installation and maintenance.
