MRO-ESOURCE.COM: Product Locator Guide Resource Expands

A major expansion of the information packed into www.mro-esource.com is adding to the website’s usefulness for MRO professionals. Two areas in particular continue to undergo continuous updates — industry news in the Newsbreak section of the home page, and various product categories in the frequently expanding Product Locator Guide.

In Newsbreak on the home page, in addition to extra details on news stories published in the print edition, you’ll find several articles that didn’t make it into print because of space considerations, as well as the latest news that develops after Machinery & Equipment MRO goes to press.

Best of all, a new Advanced Article Search engine has been added to the site. You’ll find it by clicking on Search button near the top of the screen. With it you can search words, phrases or company names in any of our current and past issues from 2000 and 2001, as well as in all the on-line Newsbreak reports.

Most importantly, there’s a lot of new data in the Product Locator Guide. Several new company and product listings have been added to a range of product categories in recent weeks, including chain, hose, belts, seals and packings, mechanical couplings, retaining rings and pulleys, and sheaves and sprockets.

Visit those new categories for a complete sourcing database that will tell you the types and sizes available from each supplier, the product details, where the items are stocked nearest you, typical delivery times, and contact names for technical information on the products.

When you first click on the Product Locator Guide button at mro-esource.com, you’ll see a list of the following product categories: Analytical/Diagnostic Instrumentation (9 sub-categories), Bearings (8 sub-categories), Electrical/Electronic (9 sub-categories), Fluid Power — Hydraulic (12 sub-categories), Fluid Power — Pneumatic (8 sub-categories), Fluids & Greases (11 sub-categories), Linear Motion (5 sub-categories), Maintenance Equipment/Supplies (9 sub-categories), and Mechanical Power Transmission (20 sub-categories).

As noted, there are several sub-categories within each section. For example, you’ll find Belts listed under Mechanical Power Transmission, and then the sub-categories of conveyor belts and industrial belts. Industrial belts are further sub-divided into Synchronous Type and V-Type belts. For V-belts specifically, you’ll find listings for nine suppliers and details on 25 products. In many cases, the “More Info” page provides direct links to a company’s web site and a button for the “1-2-e” electronic enquiry system to send their staff a query by e-mail. Also, some companies provide a link to on-line brochures so you can explore the complete details of a product without having to order and wait for the printed brochure.
