The Viber-G combination instrument is used for measuring overall vibration and for bearing condition monitoring. This low-cost instrument is ideal for maintenance personnel who perform daily machinery monitoring checks, such as shift mechanics, or the PM specialist, who can use it to take a general overall reading or run a soft foot test without having to do a full scale vibration analysis.

3 steps to effective sealing

Chicago Rawhide offers a three-step Sealing Solution for virtually every shaft seal application. Step 1 is a quality seal that keeps bearing lubricants in place and contaminants out. CR’s Waveseal, for example, has bi-directional, hydro-dynamic pumping action. Step 2 is a good shaft, and CR’s Speedi-Sleeve is a quick way to repair a worn shaft. Step 3 is extra contaminant protection, in CR’s case by using an all-rubber Forsheda V-ring that holds itself in place on the shaft and repels water and contaminants by a centrifugal “slinger” action.

Device quickly measures parallelism on punch presses

A new parallelism verification device (PVD) is specifically designed to verify parallel distances between the ram (platen) and bolster (platen) on punch presses. It comes as a kit in a wooden carrying case, allowing millwrights to verify parallelism in a few minutes, instead of using micrometers or ground blocks. The PVD comes in four models covering a height range of 4.75 in. to 107.687 in.
