A double enveloping worm gear speed reducer, the model HP from Cone Drive, is said to provide the maximum mechanical horsepower and output torque ratings in the industry. Available in single, double and triple reduction, the HP comes in sizes from 1.5 in. to 12-in. centre distance and ratios from 5:1 to 180,000:1. The double enveloping design provides more teeth in mesh than any other worm gear design, reducing noise as well as stress levels in the mesh area, and increasing durability, load capacity and gear life.

Ball bearing line features corrosion-resistant insert

Rockwell Automation has developed a corrosion-resistant, coated bearing insert for the Dodge E-Z Kleen polymer-housed ball bearing line. While providing the appearance of stainless steel, the solid polymer insert performs as well as that material against corrosion, yet takes a higher load capacity and is more cost effective. Unlike stainless steel bearings, the new bearing insert will carry the fully rated dynamic and static capacity of the bearing. It will not chip, flake or peel, even under the harshest of operating conditions.
