CSA Group brings cybersecurity testing services to manufacturers

July 19, 2017 | By Rehana Begg

Toronto – CSA Group announces its new services in the area of cybersecurity testing, combining our well-established expertise in functional safety evaluation with our long history working with emerging technologies.

While today’s interconnected landscape can provide numerous advantages and process efficiencies, it can also give rise to potential cyber threats, reports CSA Group. The Testing & Certification organization is working closely with businesses to develop tailored solutions that can help identify potential issues early in the product design phase and implement security measures to mitigate potential cyber risk.

As part of the overall product functional safety evaluation, cybersecurity analysis and testing should be performed by qualified third-party testing organizations. CSA Group can execute a series of testing solutions that help ensure a thorough cybersecurity evaluation including:

  • Gap Analysis
  • Security Development Lifecycle Assurance (SDLA)
  • Embedded Device Security Assurance (EDSA)
  • Bench Testing

“This comprehensive set of tests and evaluations are based on international standards, ISO 27000 Security Management Standards, IEC 62433 Cybersecurity Standards and NIST Guide 800 series,” says Stephen Brown, Director of Innovation for CSA Group. “These tests will provide greater assurance that the products being delivered to the market have the highest confidence against vulnerabilities. CSA is very pleased to announce that we can offer these services to our customers thus giving product designers a complete suite of testing and certification services.”
