Engineers Canada launches online portal for engineering jobs in Canada

Ottawa – Engineers Canada today launched EngScape, a new interactive online portal that addresses the labour market needs of the engineering profession in Canada.
With statistics and data about employment rates, salary, university enrollment and diversity, EngScape presents this information in an accessible and easy-to-understand way, and breaks it down by engineering discipline and by province.
“EngScape is a unique tool and tremendous resource for anyone looking for information about engineering, or attempting to navigate the world of careers in this field,” said Engineers Canada CEO Kim Allen, MBA, FEC, FCAE, P.Eng. “The engineering labour market is shifting, and access to timely and reliable information is essential to enable employers, job-seekers and decision-makers to respond to these changes.”
In addition to the labour market trends and projections for the 14 engineering disciplines, EngScape also features profiles of individual engineers, provides typical job descriptions and requirements, and presents career outlooks for each discipline to give visitors a true sense of the engineering profession.
EngScape also includes a job search tool that aggregates engineering job postings from a variety of online sources and that is searchable by engineering discipline and location.
“We want to provide one-stop-shopping for anyone looking for a career in engineering,” said Jamie Ricci, MS, Engineers Canada’s Practice Lead, Research. “EngScape has something for everyone—youth can discover what they can do with an engineering career, recent engineering graduates can look for their first job, experienced engineers can find their next job, and internationally trained engineers looking to enter the Canadian workforce can explore the range of opportunities across the country.”
EngScape is the product of a partnership between Engineers Canada and the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC).
