Clevelenad, OH — The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) has announced that Richard B. Sade, vice president, S & S Hinge Company, Bloomington, IL, was elected its 2016 second vice chairman and treasurer of the Board of Directors, during its annual meeting of members, on March 12 in Palm Springs, CA.  Ron Lowry, owner and president of Minneapolis-based Dayton Rogers Manufacturing, was elected PMA chairman of the Board, and Dave Arndt, president of Pentaflex Inc. Springfield, OH, will serve as PMA first vice chairman of the Board.

“I’m honoured to be elected PMA’s second vice chairman and treasurer, and look forward to working closely with Ron Lowry and Dave Arndt to provide leadership for PMA during the year ahead. Ron’s theme during his term as PMA chairman is “Manufacturing Matters,” and I look forward to helping him encourage manufacturers to focus on two key areas: closing the skills gap and helping elected officials and the general public understand the importance of manufacturing to the U.S. economy. I also want to express my gratitude to PMA’s 2015 Board Chairman and Termax Corporation CEO, Bill Smith, for his great leadership and all that he accomplished over the past year,” said Sade.

“Richard Sade and S & S Hinge Company have been active members of the Precision Metalforming Association for 12 years,” said William E. Gaskin, PMA president.  “During that time, Rich has served as chairman of PMA’s Chicago District and as a member of PMA’s Board of Directors for more than six years, and has also served as a member and/or chairman of several PMA committees, including those responsible for strategic planning, government relations, finance and our audit committee.  He has participated regularly in our annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C., when we meet with our elected representatives to help them understand the importance of manufacturing to the economic well-being of the United States. Rich will continue to be a strong advocate for his company, for PMA and the metalforming industry as he begins his service as one of PMA’s elected leaders,” concluded Gaskin.

The company backs its customer service with lean manufacturing processes, reducing “soft costs” and eliminating waste throughout order development, manufacture, and shipment. S & S Hinge’s 6 and 8 foot standard continuous hinge stock supports customers with immediate needs, while its “make-to-order” capabilities provide OEM and contract job shop customers the full service of “value-added” fabrications.

PMA is the full-service trade association representing the $137-billion metalforming industry of North America—the industry that creates precision metal products using stamping, fabricating, spinning, slide forming and roll forming technologies, and other value-added processes. Its nearly 900 member companies also include suppliers of equipment, materials and services to the industry. PMA leads innovative member companies toward superior competitiveness and profitability through advocacy, networking, statistics, the PMA Educational Foundation, FABTECH and METALFORM Mexico tradeshows, and MetalForming, Fabricating Product News and 3D Metal Printing magazines.
