“We are proud to continue our global expansion in hazardous locations testing and certification with the opening of this new lab in Texas,” said Ash Sahi, President and CEO, CSA Group. “CSA Group is a world leader in explosive atmosphere testing, and we are expanding our services to meet the growing needs of the oil and gas industry in Texas and across the United States.”
At the new 20,000 sq. ft. facility, highly experienced experts will offer testing and certification services to the requirements of a number of national and international standards mainly for hazardous locations products. This involves testing of equipment that is used in a location where there is potential for explosion due to airborne particles or fumes, and it is vital to help limit the potential for a serious accident.
The modern facility will be equipped with an accredited, full service explosion-proof chamber and flame-proof laboratory featuring specialized high-speed video equipment to capture slow motion analysis of flame propagation test failures and ambient temperature operating ranges from -80˚C to +180˚C.
The new laboratory in Plano, Texas is accredited by International Accreditation Services, Inc., Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Standards Council of Canada.
