Chicago, IL – The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) has released a new white paper, VMI: A Practitioner’s Set of Guidelines. The association of industrial power transmission distributors and manufacturers has ongoing efforts to foster best-in-class business practices among its members, so has issued this white paper on vendor-managed inventory (VMI).

The paper provides information to help distributors and manufacturers explore vendor-managed inventory and make an informed decision as to whether implementing this type of relationship can help their bottom line. VMI: A Practitioner’s Set of Guidelines provides both a distributor and manufacturer perspective in regards to implementation, measuring results and benefits of VMI. Also included is a case study, glossary of terms and a checklist of prerequisites for VMI participation.

The paper is available to both members and non-members of PTDA, and is available for download by PTDA members at vwww.ptda.org/vmi. Non-members also can access the guidelines at no cost in just a few quick steps.
