Portland, OR – FLIR Systems Inc. has received a $16-million order for its Recon B2-FO integrated dual-channel thermal binoculars from an Asian government customer strategically allied with the United States. This longstanding FLIR customer is one of the largest users of the company’s Recon product line.

Work under this order will be performed out of FLIR’s facility in Billerica, MA, with shipments expected to be completed in the next 12 months.

“We are very pleased to have been selected to provide these high performance long-range handheld imaging systems for this counter-terrorism mission,” said Andy Teich, president and CEO of FLIR. “Once again, our CDMQ model of developing, manufacturing, and distributing military-qualified imaging systems on a commercial basis has yielded a product that optimizes size, weight, power, and global supportability.

“This significant follow-on order from this customer demonstrates the effectiveness of our strategy and the long-term nature of our customer relationships.”
