Stamford, CT — Omega Engineering Inc. of Stamford, CT, which has sales and distribution offices in Canada, the UK and Germany, and which has been a supplier in the process measurement and control market for 50 years, opened a new office in Shanghai, China at the end of September 2012.
Omega was recently acquired by Spectris plc, a supplier of productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls. With this change of leadership, the first order of business was to make Omega a strong force in China.
The company appointed Zhang Dou ( Ms. Sharon Zhang) as the Omega Engineering general manager of China. The Omega China business unit will have more than a dozen employees, including technical support engineers, offering customer service to China.
The September grand opening of the Shanghai office was a major growth move for the company. By entering this new market, Omega hopes to spread its brand throughout China, gain the loyalty of its future customers and become a well-known presence in the region for process measurement and control.
