Toronto, ON — Machinery & Equipment MRO magazine has been nominated as one of the 2005 Top Ten Finalists in the annual Kenneth R. Wilson Awards competition. Celebrating 51 years this year, the KRW Awards honour excellence in Canadian business journalism and graphic design.
More than 750 entries — the best in the business magazine field — were submitted. Machinery & Equipment MRO magazine has received four nominations, for:
* Best Editorial — Time to get tough on counterfeiters, by Bill Roebuck, editor (Nov 2004, page 6).

* Best News Coverage — Killer counterfeits by Richard Rix, writer (Nov. 2004, page 19)
* Best Cover — Drive time, created by Ellie Robinson, art director; and Bill Roebuck, editor. (April 2004).
The awards are named for a man regarded as one of Canada’s top business writers. Kenneth R. Wilson wrote with clarity and authority. His opinions were widely sought and respected. In spite of his busy career, he was active in a number of editor and journalist associations.
A tragic airplane crash ended his distinguished career in January 1952. He was 47 years old. It is the memory of Kenneth R. Wilson, his example and his achievements in business press journalism that the Canadian Business Press honours him each year with these awards.
Machinery & Equipment MRO has previously received uncounted nominations and five KRW awards in various categories. Editor Bill Roebuck also has been honoured with an additional seven KRW awards for his work on other publications.
The awards will be presented during Magazine Week at a dinner at the Old Mill in Toronto on June 6, 2005.
