Toronto, ON — Aug. 28, 2002 – Darcor Limited, which designs and manufactures ergonomically designed casters and wheels, has been awarded an ISO 9001:2000 Certificate of Approval from BSI Management Systems.
Darcor is one of the first caster manufacturers in North America to achieve ISO 9001 certification under version 2000 of the standard. “The company will now be able to operate a total quality management system that meets all the design and manufacturing requirements of casters and wheels for a selected range of medical, material handling and industrial applications,.” says Robert E. Hilborn, Darcor’s president.
“ISO 9001:2000 registration will allow Darcor to achieve the next level of quality, not only in our products but in our service as well, with a greater emphasis on customer satisfaction," adds Hilborn.
The ISO 9001:2000 standard encompasses Darcor’s entire operation, reflecting improved processes, increased customer focus, consistent manufacturing, and delivery of quality products and services to customers.
Darcor’s casters and wheels are found in major North American hospitals, manufacturing industries, and at leading OEMs and parts replacement organizations in the material handling industry.
Award of ISO 9001:2000 certification is an important progression for Darcor, already an ISO 9001-registered company, says Hilborn. “Attaining the ISO 9001:2000 level will assist us in maintaining our preferred supplier status through the continued and consistent delivery of a superior-quality product to our clients.”
