Saint John, N.B. — Oct. 1, 2001 — Irving Oil Limited & Chevron Canada Resources plan to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving and regasification terminal near Saint John, N.B. The $350-million facility will have a capacity of over 750 million cu ft per day of natural gas and could come on-line as early as 2005.

The terminal would unload liquefied natural gas, store it, and then convert it to a gaseous state for use in the region.
