Mississauga, ON — May 29, 2001 — Canadian Bearings Ltd. (CB) of Mississauga, Ont., has acquired the distribution component of Moteurs & Roulements PM Inc. of Shawinigan, Que.

Moteurs & Roulements PM is a bearing and power transmission distribution firm specializing in new and rebuilt electric motors. It services the Mauricie region of Quebec with two facilities, one in Shawinigan, and the other in Bcancour. Mario Page and his team will now join the family of CB branches with access to the complete range of CB’s power transmission and bearing products.

CB has also acquired financial interest in PM Moteurs Inc., the motor repair side of Moteurs & Roulements PM Inc., confirming its ongoing commitment to its Repairable Assets Program.

“This acquisition gives Rseau CB, the Quebec division of Canadian Bearings, the ability to service Abitibi Consolidated Mills from the Mauricie region of Quebec,” says Don Lewin, CB’s vice-president of Quebec operations.

Canadian Bearings is a Canadian owned and operated industrial distribution company with 33 branches in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and British Columbia. It employs approximately 340 people.
